Open the disk image
The file Whisperly.dmg in your Downloads folder.
Step 2
Drag Whisperly to Applications
In the window that opens, drag the Whisperly icon onto the Applications folder.
Step 3
Open Whisperly
It asks for the microphone and two permissions, then offers the speech model.

Whisperly is new, and some parts are still rough. New versions come often. Download the newest one here.

Whisperly for Windows is new and not finished. It dictates, and some parts of the Mac version are not in it yet. New builds come often. Download the newest one here.

Open the installer
The file Whisperly-Setup.exe in your Downloads folder.

Get past the blue box
Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”. Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. The box appears because the installer carries no signature yet.
Step 3
Open Whisperly
It downloads the Fast model, about 670 MB, once. The tray icon shows the percent. Then hold left Ctrl, speak, let go.
Windows shows “Windows protected your PC” once, because the installer carries no signature yet. “More info”, then “Run anyway”. A PC with Smart App Control on blocks unsigned installers; Whisperly cannot install there until it is signed.
At the first start Whisperly downloads the Fast model, about 670 MB, once. The Large model and the Small clean-up model are optional downloads from inside the app.
Hold left Ctrl, speak, let go. The Trigger page offers right Ctrl, Caps Lock or right Alt instead.

- The pages where you read and switch the clean-up rules, the commands, emoji and numbers. The rules themselves run.
- Writing styles of your own. The built-in ones are there.
- Words on the screen while you still speak, with the Large model.
- Learning from your typed fixes. A fix said by voice is kept as a suggestion.
- Saying “undo” or “delete that” after a dictation.
- Clean-up by your own Mac over the network is there only as the My Mac option, set up by hand.
- The note that a dictation was not in English.
- Sync with your other devices. Import from the Mac’s export files works instead.
- The Voice page’s deep set.
Whisperly checks once a day for a newer build and says so on Home, in the tray menu and on About. Nothing installs by itself. The newest build is always on this page.
One Whisperly Pro key works on your Mac and your Windows PC. Paste it on the General page. Writing styles of your own are not on Windows yet.
The iPhone app is coming to the App Store.
