How does dictation work in Whisperly?
You hold one key while you talk. When you let go, the words appear where your cursor is, in any app. The microphone is on only while you hold the key.

What does the clean-up do?
The clean-up takes out the ums, the repeats and the false starts, and fixes the punctuation. It is not an assistant. It types what you said and nothing else, tidied for the kind of app you are in.

Can I fix words by voice?
Yes. Select a word, hold the key together with Shift, and say the word you meant: Whisperly puts it in place of the selection. With Whisperly Pro you can also say “delete that”, “capitalise that” or “undo” right after a dictation.

What does Whisperly need?
Whisperly is made for Macs with Apple silicon and needs macOS 26.4 or later. It understands English today. The download is 8.7 MB. In setup you can download the larger speech model once, about 630 MB, or use Apple’s built-in model.
- Setup asks for the microphone, Input Monitoring and Accessibility. The questions page says why.
- After setup, speech becomes text on your Mac. On macOS 26 the clean-up runs on your Mac too.
- The iPhone app, a keyboard with a microphone key, is coming to the App Store.
What does it cost?
